The 1734-TOP3S is a POINT I / O terminal base. This part is an integrated terminal base without removable terminal blocks for wire connection. The 1734-TOP3S is a 12-terminal spring clip terminal base, which is ideal for use on POINT I / O systems when fast and secure connection to field devices is required. These devices are easily connected to the corresponding I / O modules via the 1734-TOP3S terminal base. The 1734-TOP3S terminal base is mounted directly on the DIN rail in vertical or horizontal direction, providing backplane communication connections and enabling field power bus distribution. One of the advanced options of this terminal base is the mechanical key setting to prevent incorrect I / O module installation. No tools are required when assembling POINT I / O modules.

Some of the parts included in the 1734-TOP3S are terminal blocks, interlocking side pieces, handles, bases, DIN rail (orange) mechanical keying and locking screws. Some of its features are a wire diameter of 0.25 to 2.5 mm (22 to 14 AWG), a size of 49 x 12 x 168 mm (1.93 x 0.47 x 6.61 inches), and a maximum weight of 66.8 grams (2.36 ounces). The power supply voltage is 300 volts, the maximum terminal current is 8 A, and the power supply voltage of the field power bus is 28.8 volts DC and 120 to 240 volts AC.

Install the 1734-TOP3S like this: Place the base over the existing unit (module) and slide the base down. Interlock with side plates of adjacent units. Press it firmly into the DIN rail so that the terminal base is in place. Do not insert any I / O module into the base terminal until you confirm that the locking screw is in the horizontal position. The 1734-TOP3S mechanically keyed position must match the selected number the way the I / O module is selected for installation.

POINT I / O is connected to the floor of the rack via a DIN rail. The 1734-TOP3S enables proper grounding on galvanized steel DIN rails. The connection pins are marked with the numbers 0 to 11; look for the wiring scheme of the I / O module used with the terminal block. Do not connect more than 2 wires to the terminal pins.
