1734-ep24dc or 1734-epac extended power supply provides two services:
Separate the left and right field distribution of the power supply (1734-ep24dc or 1734-epac)
Provide an additional 1.3a current to the POINTBus of the I/O module to the right of the power supply (1734-ep24dc or 1734-epac)
Extending the power unit does not interrupt POINTBus data, thus maintaining the integrity of the POINT I/O backplane.
The 1734-ep24dc extended power unit transmits the 24V DC field power to the I/O module on its right through the POINTBus backplane.The 1734-epac extended power supply unit transmits the field power supply of 120/240v AC to the I/O module on its right through the POINTBus backplane.These units extend the backplane bus power supply and create a new field voltage divider to drive * 17 more I/O modules of the field devices.The extended power unit separates the on-site power supply from the I/O module on the left side of the unit to effectively provide functional and logical partitions for the following purposes:
Separate the field power supply between the input and input modules.
Separate field power supply from analog and digital modules.
Group modules to perform specific tasks or functions.
Multiple extended power units can be combined with 1734-adn, 1734-adnx, 1734-acnr, 1734-aent, and 1734-apb communication adapters to form a complete system.For example, if you are using the 1734-adn adapter, you can add other modules using either the 1734-ep24dc or the 1734-epac extended power unit.For example, if you have a 36-module system with a 1734-adn adapter, you need to add at least two or more 1734-ep24dc or 1734-epac extension power units to provide greater POINTBus current to the module on the right side of the power supply.
