Allen-Bradley 1756-IB16D is a ControlLogix DC digital I / O module. The 1756-IB16D specific input module can use 16 diagnostic inputs with 4 points in each group. It is compatible with 1756 ControlLogix racks, requires RTB or removable terminal blocks, and its enclosure can only be 1756-TBNH or 1756-TBSH.

Like other diagnostic modules, the 1756-IB16D is designed to provide the controller with additional information, such as no-load detection, timestamp of when the module failure occurred or cleared, and pulse testing. Please note that this module does not indicate that the fuse for its wire break diagnostic function is blown or removed. 1756-IB16D can use RSLogix 5000 software to find its diagnostic readings and user-configurable settings, especially status changes, diagnostic latching of information, software-configurable filtering time, status diagnostic changes to input modules, disconnection detection and communication formats .

The 1756-IB16D has an operating voltage range of 10 to 30V DC, a voltage class of 12 / 24V DC sink current, and a nominal input voltage of 24V DC. The 1756-IB16D has a nominal 340µs input delay time, or a hardware delay time of up to 1 ms, plus a user-selectable filter time (0, 1, 2 ms) from "off" to "on". The 1756-IB16D's backplane has a total power of 0.84W, a maximum power consumption of 5.8W at 60 degrees Celsius, and a maximum heat dissipation of 19.78 BTU / hour. In the off state, the maximum voltage of the 1756-IB16D is 5W and the maximum current is 1.5 mA. When in the on state, the current ranges from 2 mA at 10V DC to 13 mA at 30V DC. In addition, the 1756-IB16D has a maximum inrush current of 250 mA.
